During the 90's the
Koh Phangan Full Moon Party became popular and the first
ferry and jetty appeared where the original Sunset Bungalows
had been. This jetty remained the only place to get to
Had Rin until 2001 when the company bought their own piece
of land opposite the Poo Yai ban's (village chief) house,
and the old jetty became the jetty for a new speed boat
service to Koh Tao. On the other side of the road there
was also a lot of building going on in the 90's and that
was mainly private houses which the local people rent
out to foreigners who want to stay for a long period of
time. This area has become hugely popular among foreigners
to reside in and there are an abundance of houses available,
especially down the
Ghost
road (Look out for the Ghost Road on the
Area
Map) where there are many foreigners living. For a
